Leeds United Summer 2024 Transfer Review: Major Sales and Squad Rebuild
Summer 2024 brought major player sales as Leeds United managed financial requirements while rebuilding for another Championship promotion challenge.
Overview and strategic intent
Following defeat in the 2024 play-off final, Leeds generated major sales before rebuilding Daniel Farke's starting side for another promotion push.
Key arrivals
Joe Rodon's successful loan became a permanent move from Tottenham Hotspur. Jayden Bogle added dynamism at right-back, while Ao Tanaka and Largie Ramazani arrived late in the window to bring midfield control and attacking variation.
Key departures
Archie Gray's move to Tottenham was an emotional departure for an academy graduate. Championship Player of the Season Crysencio Summerville joined West Ham United, while Georginio Rutter moved to Brighton & Hove Albion after his release clause was activated. Glen Kamara, Marc Roca and Charlie Cresswell also left permanently.
Verdict: 6.5/10
Supporters were understandably frustrated by the loss of leading players. The rebuilt squad nevertheless responded by winning the Championship with 100 points, giving the window a stronger outcome than its difficult closing weeks initially suggested.
