How the site updates

Transfer rumour feeds are checked roughly every hour. Results, fixtures and the league table refresh every few hours through the day and again overnight. Squad, contract and completed-transfer records are maintained by hand and always take precedence over anything collected automatically.

If an automatic update fails or returns obviously broken data — an empty squad, no fixtures, a table with no clubs — it is rejected and the last good version stays on the site, marked with the time it was last updated.

When sources disagree

  1. 1. Official club and competition announcements.
  2. 2. Established football data sources.
  3. 3. Established media reporting.
  4. 4. Secondary aggregators.

A confirmed fact is never replaced by a lower-confidence report.

Fees: confirmed vs reported

Confirmed — announced by the club or competition.

Reported fee — a figure published by the media and not officially confirmed. These are always labelled as reported.

Undisclosed — no figure exists. Undisclosed is never counted as £0 in spend totals; totals show known fees only.

Spotted something wrong?

Records here are compiled by a fan, not the club. If a player, fee or date looks wrong, note the page and the record and send it over — corrections are made by hand and stick, because manual entries always beat the automatic feeds.
